Boxes, Sticks and Mud

United States

Every time we get a package my son gets so excited because he gets to play with the box. I swear he doesn't even care what is the box even if it is for him he just wants the box. I opened up another package and my son got all excited for his new box. My husband looked at him and told him we were going to return all his birthday presents and just get him some boxes. The kid got excited!! He said, "yeah, boxes sticks and mud." Looks like his birthday shopping just got a whole lot cheaper. The things 3 year olds wish for.

Most kids would rather play with the boxes.

My child would certainly fall under that category.

I wish my son loved what was in the box at least as much as he loved playing in the box.

Hehe - my nephew likes playing with boxes too. His mom gets creative and makes like box cars and stuff for him to play with too (Pinterest inspired)

I might have to look on Pinterest. I never really mess with the boxes he just takes them and starts playing. It will be a car one minute and a boat the next.

My son's best friend is obsessed with Paw Patrol. My son never really took interest in that show and I don't think he has ever seen anything Skylander.

lol It has always been a joke around here that the box is more popular than the gift. Boxes make great garages, hideouts and so much more!!

Yes. He will hide in it and yell, "mom can you find me." Then it will transform into a car, boat or whatever else is convenient at the time.
