I want an adventure

For nine years, I have never gone anywhere for a vacation. I only go out of the house when I have to buy something. One could say I'm a total introvert because I'm totally content in my own company. In fact, I have no friends I could just have coffee with and talk to or go shopping with. I've been stuck in this comfort zone for too long and I feel that my life is getting all blurry. The Internet has been my window to the world and I do love saving photos of landscapes, seascapes, unusual terrain, sunsets, mountains and the like into my computer. I sometimes imagine myself going on an adventure trip to faraway countries like Iceland, New Zealand, Australia and such. I'm almost thirty-two years old, friendless and have never been anywhere. The people in my FB network have been posting vacation photos a lot since April and May are the "summer" months here in the Philippines. I couldn't even go anywhere in my country being so broke and right now, a trip is something I cannot afford. I'm even worried about where to get my son's tuition. Perhaps if the venture I'm in started paying out once more, my plans won't be plans anymore. My primary goal right now is to be able to fork over an amount that would settle my son in school for another term. My plan on going back to school to be a nursing aide comes second and the adventures would be third. I wonder though: Is there someone out there who feels like life is leaving them behind? If I could, maybe I'd find those people, strike a plan to raise money and go on an adventure for a month with those new found friends. Right now, there are some things I need to take care of first and maybe, just maybe, I can finally have my adventure into a new horizon.

Hahaha you are not alone. I felt tbe same way too but we have to focus on our needs before our wants. Its been awhile since I was able to go out of the country as a tourist and planned of doing so maybe next year if I can save up a lot of money. I am also an introvert.

I feel my life is normally stuck in one gear. Yes we do get out and do things from time to time, but we are in a routine. I can tell you that most Friday nights at 7 pm we are grocery shopping, because well that is what we do. My 2 cents for you is start to get out more by doing small stuff that is free or very inexpensive. Go to the library and take free course there on something you are interested in. Go to the park and enjoy scenery. Or volunteer or spend time gardening, etc. these ideas are free or inexpensive. Also they don't take all day to do. As you meet more people then you see if there is something local or close by that would not cost a lot. It is hard to get out of our comfort zones, but a lot of small steps makes a few big steps.

@mypointsju Thanks for the comment Jeff! Believe me, if there are such things around the neighborhood, I would definitely do those, just for a change. I love animals and I would gladly volunteer in taking care of them but there are currently only two animal shelters here and the nearest one I have to travel two hours to get there! I do envy you guys in the states because there are community activities like that there but this is the Philippines and we don't have anything like those here. We used to have a library but the place was bought and turned into something else. I sometimes go out on walks but since it's "summer" here now, it's just too hot to go out.
