Sad when family turn against you

It's really hard to cope with my nieces who treat my daughter like crap. They are not in her life at all anymore and it's all because of posting on social media sites. It all started with a Facebook post on politics. Politics is something I steer clear of. Anyway, it started with the Obama reelection. It's like if you don't agree there is a call for war. The nieces get together and gang up on my daughter. Kim says she's over it and don't worry about it. Kim tried one last time to reconnect and she had egg all over her face. I hate my daughter being treated badly. It makes me cry. We lice 1000 miles away from them, but as children they were all best buddies. I don't know how to drop it and let it go. Hope you guys can give me some feedback.

im sorry to hear that. probably staying away from the nieces for now is a good idea. and maybe stop commenting or engaging on Facebook.

You are right on that point. And if they never get close again, it's not because my daughter didn't try. I feel Facebook is not to lose friends over. It's just a social venue.

My family disowned me back in 2010 so I know how you feel.

@OreoBrownie Yeah but I just deal. Nothing I can do. I even stopped sending my parents pictures of my children.

@OreoBrownie I am sorry your daughter is having problems with family, that's the reason I never discuss anything on facebook esp. politics.Hope things will work out eventually.

Unfortunately, they won't ever be friends again. They grew up together until my daughter was 7 and then we moved to Georgia. So they never saw each other except on rare occasions when we went up to NY or they came here. So they are virtual strangers.

You can't fight you daughters fights for her. She says its okay so leave it at that. I am assuming she not a small child but a young adult or an adult. I have pretty strong opinions on politics. I often share political posts on FB but I try not to put my own personal opinion on there, so there is no hurt feelings and angry disputes. I post news stories that I think are important, those who don't like the subject can just ignore it...Those that are interested let me know they appreciate the share... I hope you drop it and end the bad feelings.

That's the way it should be instead of being in your face about the views we have.

Running frm anything never helps. Firstly stay calm and try to solve it nicely with talk and peace bt if that doesn't goes well. Dnt run nd teach yur daughter to fight back nt physically jst make her mentally strong that there is no one in this wrld more stronger or bettr than u. All u have to do is to stand up nd trst me everythings gonna be jst fine. Well anyways god bless her nd u too

Im sorry to hear that maam, but conflict and family issues are inevitable. I am in no position to give you an advise for I know you can handle this one with Gods guidance. :)

I've given it all to God since I wrote this discussion so I feel some better. It still hurts because they are no longer close to me either.

There is nothing you can do now. Whatever you do will make matter worse. Let it rest for the time being. I think the sour relationship did not start from a single event. It must be a prolong indifference or bad relationship, and matter got blow out of proportion since then.

It's just words on Facebook get hot. It's silly really. Family is family. My nieces say we are not family, we just share the same gene pool.

That's sad but some families have fueds and they may not connect for many reasons. Unfortunately not everyone gets along. Hopefully they will realize that treating your daughter badly won't create blessings for them.

I am sorry to hear this Charlene. Kim is such a sweetheart too. Those nieces are being so mean. I have heard a lot of situations like this happening on that dang facebook.

I rarely go on Facebook anymore. If I were to do some coloring art I go on there, or if I have good news in my life.
