A floor, a pillow, and a pizza place.

I'm stretched out on a sheet laying on the floor in my apartment. I've got a pillow, and I'm catching up on the show, Blindspot. I hate when I can't go to sleep because of pain. I heard sleeping on the floor helps one's back, but perhaps that is an adage from someone who never had a real bed. Anyone watch Blindspot? Anyone sleep on their floor? It can't be good for allergies; especially when your floor is carpeted. *Shout out to those who recognized my discussion title as a play on the name of an old Ryan Reynolds TV sitcom.

Years ago Ryan Reynolds was on an ABC sitcom called Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place. In the second season they dropped the pizza place part, but I never forgot how weird that title was at the time. I didn't even watch the show, but the title stuck in my head.

@allen0187 The first time I saw Ryan Reynolds was when he was on this awful Nickelodeon show, Fifteen. It was hilariously bad.

@AmbiePam I remember that show but never really watched it. Surprised to know that Ryan Reynolds was a part of the show.

I've not seen that show. Is your back still bothering you or is this a new flare up? I know that you've got health issues, have you considered going to a chiropractor for a treatment or to a physio therapist for a deep tissue massage? Maybe even some hydro-therapy if you have a membership to a local swimming pool.

I went to a chiropractor years ago. He helped tremendously. And a massage therapist in my church used to give me free massages. She helped my neck, but nothing she did ever helped my back. It's painful to the touch. She had to quit the massages because of tendinitis. I can't afford any of those things these days. The chiropractor was over a decade ago. I really wanted to try cryotherapy because it's shown to help pain, even though it's fairly new in the mainstream. Maybe someday I can.

@AmbiePam I've been reading about cryotherapy. I hope that you can find some relief in the meantime.

Sorry, the title means nothing to me, neither have I tried sleeping on the floor. And just to complete the 'full house' I've never watched Blindspot, or even heard of it.

I'm sorry you're having to sleep on the floor to try to ease your back. It wouldn't work for me. Do you have pain-killers that help?

Yes, thank goodness. But I don't want to take more than prescribed, and I had taken my max dosage at the time of my post.

I've been used to sleeping in a soft bed but I sometimes lie down on the floor when playing with my grandnephew but can't really sleep on the floor because my back would ache for sure.

I have not watched Blindspot before but enjoy your show! Are you eating pizza too?? I tried sleeping on the floor once and it was painful. I think those who sleep on the ground from toddler to adult is more used to it.

Okay, I SORTA see where laying on the floor might help, it's a straight surface afterall, but then you end up hurting your neck that way as well.. Maybe these people had shag carpets? So it wasn't as rough / hard a floor? When I have back pain I lay on the bed and try to be as still as possible, no easy feat for me! I've never watched blindspot, but I am not much for t.v. serials anyway.
