Well, my carpal tunnel is definitely getting worse. The wrist brace I ordered should be in sometime today. However, it's no longer necessary. Isn't that always the way? Last night, I decided to tackle more unpacking. I went through a handful of boxes and lo and behold! At the very bottom of one of them was my favorite wrist brace! I had remembered to bring it along with me, just in case! So, I put it on and wore it all night. I had no numbness or pain or itchiness for all that time. I've taken it off to sit here and visit for a while and sure enough, my hand is going numb, it's itching like crazy and the severe pain is rushing back. Oh, I know it's going to take a lot longer than one night, but I love visiting here and I wish I could sit here for an hour! I have so much to say. But my wrist is killing me, so I can't. I need to take a rest and come back later. Hope everyone is doing well today! -Claudia-

That would be so annoying - being unable to type. Have you thought about saving up for a device that you can talk to and it comes up with the words?

@CRK109 That sounds very debilitating

Yes, I've considered that, and will continue to think about it. But in the meanwhile, I'm in pain from doing just about everything from brushing my teeth to holding a book that I'm reading, and knitting is impossible until this pain begins to subside.

I am sorry to know this my friend and also that you purchased one you may not need. I really am sorry.. See you later then. I hope it will stop it soon. Could a cortisone shot at the doctors help you?

I've never had a cortisone shot for carpal tunnel but I'm sure it would help. I've had cortisone shots for my knees and those worked very well! If the wrist brace doesn't do the trick, I'll check with my doctor.

@CRK109 If there is no solution, then I would Claudia...no point in suffering if that could relieve it..how is it today?

Carpel tunnel is something. It can be irritating wearing the wrist brace at times but it's useful. I hope the pain ceases because it's hard to be productive when those shooting pains are present.

So those wrist braces really work?

The ones that have metal in them to really restrict movement of your wrist while wearing them really do help. It's best to wear them as long as possible so your wrist is immobile, but I give myself breaks here and there. But I've found that, for me, over time and wearing the brace as much as possible, it completely goes away for months or even years! I swear by the one I have now
