Polygamy

I just read a comment on facebook where a girl (actually a girl) was defending polygyny stating that the Muslims have been given this right because of some intense thinking and so although they would be allowed to have multiple wives, a lady can not have more than one husband at a time.
This has made me thinking, I personally feel that both the forms of polygamy is just not acceptable, but if one is allowed, why restrain the other
Kindly do not get offended, I just read the comment and thought of discussing this

Polygamy in any case should not be acceptable. And if men are given the rights to have "n" wives then women should also be given the same right. There should not be any discrimination as per the gender. I am surprised whY there is such rule in muslims.

@shipreeta is it? I think muslims in India also are not allowed not sure though.

I have no idea about other countries, but in India polygamy is prohibited for everyone expect those who are Muslims
