Using A Exercise Watch/Band

About 5 years ago I won a free Fitbit from my work and I wear it all the time. Sounds great right? My wife just brought up to me last night, why do I still wear the Fitbit, when I do not look at the statistics (ok, very rarely I look at the information and it is not to look at the steps, but my sleep pattern) or even exercise. I told her that at first when I won it through work, I wanted to wear it to show my work that I just did not throw it away and it became a habit of putting it on and now I just wear it. Yes, in the last 5 years, these devices now have a watch built into it, and I can see maybe getting one as a watch. I look around at my co-workers and see that most of the people have a similar device. I am just curious, do you own one of these devices and do you actually use it for the purpose of keeping your steps, etc. (not just a watch)? Does it motivate you do more steps? For me, the only time I look at the steps is if I am going to be out all day doing something, but on a normal day, nope I don't care.
