Ill fated aircraft / myLot

Do you still remember a Russian commercial aircraft, which crashed into a mountain in West Java? No one survived and it took a long time to find the rubble and the victims. The mountain is actually a beautiful one. Not as scary as we thought when we heard the incident. I am now living in this area. I am working for a project at the foot of this mountain. Everyday I walk to my project site office, which is only 2.5 km. I cannot get my eyes off this beautiful mountain.

I still remember the news about the crash that happened in this mountain. In the picture there are two mountain peaks ... are there actually two or only one huge mountain and what is it officially called?

Only one mountain. This mountain is called Gunung Salak.

@mammots I never approach that mountain but the view is clearly visible from the main road.

It looks a bit like Mt. Diablo, which is near where I live. There's actually airplane wreckage on Mt. Diablo from 1946. You can hike to it if you know where it is. Few people do.
