What is intelligence?

I read this question, and again the bulb started flickering in my head. What is intelligence? When a doctor told me my IQ is probably about 87, how I probably am not intelligent, and how it angered me that a test could dictate how smart I am. I wasn't a trained monkey, I just can't be put on the spot being asked random questions. The exact definition is the ability to use knowledge and skill. While I'm probably not the most skilled person, I can say I do have a knowledge about different things. I can sit and watch Jeopardy or any of those trivia game shows and ramble off answers with ease. But is that really intelligence? Its' also said that intelligence is a way to form judgement. I can form judgement pretty easy depending on what the topic is. You can't really form a judgement on a new person or experience easy. Or at least I know I surely can't. Even after reading the definition, I feel intelligence is more than just logic, with some great judgement, I don't think someone can test your judgement or logic with a 40 minute test and a series of questions. I think in all hindsight intelligence is like my brother put it, "Intelligence is what you do with information you're given," plain and simple. When I'm given something that requires my mind, I know what I'm doing and the hamster isn't dead. What exactly do you think intelligence is? Question taken from: Operation mediation

Considering my current status in life, I rate my IQ as sub zero.

I took an online IQ test back in college and got 133, so I don't know how accurate that is. It had a lot of math and puzzle questions, as well as visualization, and I am good in puzzles and visualization. Still, it's supposed to be good, but it hasn't helped me get married or have a successful career. Of course, it's because I don't fit in with the mesh of society that I am passed over for others, so no surprise there.

If I remember 120 is average, so 133, is great. But intelligence as you said, doesn't dictate much anyways.

To me I do not know my iq, and my best guess is it is on the lower side. The problem that tests can not tests you on is street sense or common sense. I have a friend that has a higher iq (nothing wrong with that), but I can tell you if I dropped him at night in Detroit alone, he would not do so well.

I don't think I'd last long in most places either. My people skills aren't too good.
