She forgot my fortune cookie!

I do not often eat Chinese Food, but when I do - I always look forward to getting a little fortune cookie to eat afterwards which is complimentary added into your bag. But every so often like *today* when I got home, the fortune cookie was no where to be found. So annoying! To top it off, they were very unprofessional today as there was no spoons or napkins available. She told me they were out of spoons - how is a chain restaurant, not even authentic Chinese Food per se (Panda Express) not have any spoons? Have you ever experienced anything like that also? Seriously.

Our experience was that the restaurant did not have many of the food on the menu. It was like pick and choose and every time you pick on something the answer was "Sorry, that is not available". And to think that we drove many kilometers up the mountain only to be tied up to a limited number of food available on the menu. It was frustrating indeed.

Wow that is very frustrating. What did they even end up having? Food choices that you did not want or like, or appealed to you right? When I walked in as the store just had opened thirty minutes prior, many choices were unavailable but they were happy to make the food items for me right away if I waited. The wait wasn't too long, 5 minutes for newly cooked food sure!

@infatuatedbby It was quite embarrassing because we had proudly brought a guest to the place. Actually, they have good food the first few times we were there and the mountain view overlooking the ocean at the far horizon was great.

its so unfortunate that a lot of customers patronize a company but the people behind it doesnt value them that much..

I agree with you. You would think such franchise would have spoons. How do they expect you to eat your rice and food? As for fortune cookie it was okay I bought myself some dessert later when I went grocery shopping lol.

We have very few Chinese restaurants here, none is a take away, so I cannot compare, but what you mention seems something unbelievable.

No take away but if you don't finish your food can you bring it home? I know it seems unbelievable I don't know if the lady was lazy or what? There should be no reason there is no more spoons. If there isn't you have to alert the manager and worse case scenario they need to go buy some untensils across the street. I was just the first few customers I assume as I came when they opened about 30 minutes later?

@infatuatedbby I suppose that you can ask to bring the food at home if you do not finish it, but the portions here are surely not big, so people usually eat what they order

I agree. How can you be a food place and run out of something so simple as to a spoon?! I think the worker was just lying and lazy to get it from the back.

Sometimes accidents happen and shipments are delayed for days so places run out of things. It happened at Mcdonalds when we went one time and they were out of napkins and ketchup. Everyone wad complaining. I love the fortune cookies too as well as my kids. You can buy boxes of them at Walmart. I used to buy them for my daughter when she was little.

Yes it happens, but.. it was very inconvenient, They could have bought some black spoons across the street at the .99 cent store for the time being!

That's a bummer. I don't eat Chinese much anymore either. No places close that are any good and no car to get across town. We did order it once a couple months ago and then had it picked up when my granddaughter was bringing my daughter home from grocery shopping. They had added all the little niceties we are used to. Plenty of tea, hot mustard, and the fortune cookies. This restaurant has been around forever. My cousin used to work there when we were both in high school. Good food and owned by a nice Chinese family.

That is very sweet of the owner to add plenty of tea, hot mustard and the fortune cookies. That's great service and the way it should be. Some are very stingy

Restaurants keep running out of things these days. I have gotten Chinese food with no cookie. We did get some the other night. The back of the fortune said learn Chinese and gave the word for pomelo. That was a big help because I don't know what a pomelo is.

Yes, the employee was probably having an off day too. I don't think the store will let them run out of utensils when it just opened.. I will return but if it happens again, I might not give it a chance anymore.

Exactly. I think the worker just lazy to go get more in the back. I just came in when they were just 30 minutes open so how do they expect to go all day with telling customers they're out of necessities? Especially for those who dine in? Just resort to eat with chopsticks and forks though one technically could. But I prefer my spoon, fork.
