To Vote or Not to Vote!!!!! Why Do You Think People Don't Vote?

Who all plans to vote this year? You wouldn't believe how many people have told me there not voting because it's fixed. That the government is going to put who ever they want in there anyway. No wonder the people don't get who they want as president!!! There aren't enough people taking on their role as American citizens and going to the poles and voting. So of course the people that are voting( I bet most, if not all people that work in goverment do VOTE)do have a say about who will be president. I know we live in a free country(and I am very happy to be in this country)but I think it should be mandatory everyone 18 and over has to vote. Why do you think people don't vote? In my opinion, people don't vote because they don't take the time to learn about each of the candidates, they don't know what their about so they don't vote. People please take the time to vote!!!! Why do you think people don't vote?

I do not plan on voting. I have never voted in my life. I am not even registered to vote. You are right about your opinion about why people do not vote for me anyway. I do not have good tv signal so i do not get to learn about who is running enough to figure out what one i would want to ote for. I hear people talking but that is just he said she said going around. I want to hear it come from the persons mouth. And unless know all of the people running and heard their sides and all of what they have to say then i am not going to vote. The main reason is because of that and when you vote it is not a test you can just put any answer down. I put any answer down and that person i picked ends up winning and messses up really bad and he only won by 1 vote then that would make me feel really bad. I know that every vote counts.

There are many ways to be informed, including radio like NPR and much news available online.

We should always exercise our right to cote. I personally think that we don't havetheright to complain on how worst our leaders are performing if we ourselves didn't vote during the election period.

In my rather long life, I have never missed voting in any election. I do not believe it is "fixed," and do believe that we have a duty as citizens to vote. But uniformed people should just stay home if they too lazy to figure out what is going on.

If you are a Republican in the state of California, you are essentially wasting your time voting for president as the state is overwhelmingly Democrat. California is winner take all electoral votes so you need only win by one vote. And there 9 Dem votes to every Rep.

@Hoptam The registered Dems far outnumber registered Reps. You are in Bakersfield where there are more Reps. Try LA. where Republicans are almost as hard to find as unicorns. The entire Bay Area is liberal Dem voting. Same for Sacramento.

there are a lot of republicans.out there that is why I stress the fact that everyone needs to get out and vote if not definitely democrat's over populate. Most democrats always vote and most republicans do not. People need to understand how important it is to vote. A quiet mouth does not get fed.
