Why Use A Dictionary When We Have Google!

There are many time either at home or at work when I am busy doing some sort of written piece and I come across a word that I am not sure exactly how it is spelt. Off I go to goggle to find out the spelling! It is so quick and easy that I do it all the time at work and find it a lot easier than searching for a silly little dictionary. In fact I bet no one even uses paper dictionaries anymore right? Do you use google too as a dictionary?

@gudheart it's built in on smartphones right? But the dictionary application has to be downloaded. I'm using webster's on my iPhone.

@toniganzon Yep, built in. I have not needed to download any apps for it as I find the built in version to be good enough.

It's a lot faster, so long as you have an internet connection. I use it for everything, who needs a cook book anymore, just look a recipe up online. Need to fix something or make something, instructions are just a few keystrokes away!

Yes, I do, but I also use a spelling checker if I am in doubt.

I do use it, but I have also taught my kids to look up words in the dictionary (book style) I think it is important to know how to do things minus the electronics too

I do, but I also have a dictionary, a couple of them. Mostly they gather dust, but they see occasional use.

I go to Merriam-Webster online. It's free to use. I don't just trust any site. When it comes to the spelling and definition of words, it's still wise to use known and trusted dictionaries.

I don't use the dictionary anymore, the same way I do not buy newspapers, these are things of the past, perhaps only if there is a power outage.

If I am on the go then yes I will. For my kids I have them use the dictionary when doing homework. :)
