Marley is a 2012 documentary by Kevin MacDonald, about the life of legendary reggae singer Bob Marley. MacDonald made the film with cooperation from the Marley family--son Ziggy Marley served as Executive Producer, along with Island Records founder Chris Blackwell (it was Blackwell who not only signed The Wailers, but suggested that the young band incorporate rock instruments into their roots reggae, which, as we all know, was a smashing success.) If you're familiar with Marley's story, there really isn't anything here that you don't already know, but it's still well worth the watch. In addition to a healthy dose of live concert footage and a boffo soundtrack, we get great interview material from the likes of original band member Bunny Wailer, wife Rita Marley, and Blackwell, among others. Marley makes a great companion piece to any serious reggae collection, and is a must-see.
Bob Marley in Exodus. Enjoy!

@teamfreak16 Ya, love the harmonica on that one. Bob Marley rules. They should have legalized weed as soon as people heard his first song.

@crossbones27 - If they'd have just listened to Peter Tosh, it would've been legal decades ago.

My sister loves Bob Marley. I like reggae when I'm in the mood for reggae dancing

When I lived in Denver, there was a great reggae bar near our condo. They had live band's all the time. We went there a lot.

I can take or leave Marley. Some good songs but I was never overwhelmed.

@teamfreak16 I prefer ska. There used to be a Sunday afternoon radio reggae program that was really good playing vintage stuff from the 60s etc. More to reggae than Marley.

@JohnRoberts - I would listen to that. When I was in high school, one of Colorado Springs' college radio station's did a daily two-hour punk show. I'd bust my butt getting home in time to listen.

I like him. My favorite reggae band is Black Uhuru, though.

It's a pretty interesting documentary. I also recommend a book by Christopher John Farley called Before the Legend: the Rise of Bob Marley. It's very informative.

Bob marley. I dont have him just on the walls of my room or my T shirts. I truly believe in his sense of living. I adore him to the core. In my country there are places inspired by him. Kasol is one such place. He is all over.

Marley defines reggae - impossible to think of the music without thinking of him - a great entertainer

I'm actually not a big fan but every single song I've heard of his, I like. Maybe I am a fan but I wouldn't go out of my way to buy concert tickets.
