Medical marijuana

why is that medical marijuana should be legal. marijuana is illegal because of what it does to people but then the goverment makes it legal to sell medical marijuana?? marijuana or medical marijuana they still have the same side effects on people so why should one be legal and one be illegal.??

I think it should be legal. Like tomatoes are legal. The worst thing about it is that the price is artificially high because it's illegal. That makes it attract criminal activity. If it was cheap or free, most of the problems associated with it would go away.
