Amitabh Bacchan, one of India's greatest actors recently said in an interview, Indian films can be divided into the era, before Dilip Kumar and after Dilip Kumar. He considered him his idol.
Dilip Kumar, the tragedy king, acted in only 62 films from 1944 to 2016, and yet had such a big impact on Indian films. Right from tragedian role in Devdas, Daag, to serio-comic role in Ram Aur Shyam, to cult films like Mughal-i-azam, he was the greatest method actor.
Directors like Ramesh Sippy, Subhash Ghai, used to call him from the house to act in films like Shakti, Karma. He was brilliant in every age.

Everyone learn from their seniors that is how it is. And everyone to justify his position try to bring new things in his work. With technology -- and revolution you can't really compare things now and then.
Each actor is unique and had played at their potentials to make a image in front of audience.
