So a friend ask me if i know a judge coz she is planning to have a civil marriage. Well, i don't know one. Now she asked me questions i cannot answer. So maybe you could. 1. What are the requirements of a civil wedding esp if you are marrying someone of a different natiolity? 2. Will she be able to get the marriage contract within a week? 3. How long will it take to process a marriage license? Well, i told her to ask their government office, but she doesnt want to. I cant answer them coz i have no idea...

First they need the Certificate of the No Marriage records from that National Statistics offices and the rest will be found in the office of the judge. They have to see the judge first for the preliminaries. I think they still need to attend some seminars.

In my country it would be : 1. None, but problems can arise later if the marriage is not registered in the embassy of the foreigner : the marriage might not be recognized by his/her country. 2. No, because of public bans of marriage, needing at least 10 days in France. 3. The day of the marriage.

@rona07 Not really the same : it would be faster in USA than in France.

In my country if I marry to person of another country, she gets all the documentation process followed without much of an issue. Just she needs two people on her side as witness. And once she registers the marriage, things get adjusted just fine.

Oh, I cannot help you with that for I never marry a foreigner . I think you can search for the website of the civil registry to know all the requirements. I hope it helps.

She's going to need to ask someone in authority. I have no answers especially since I'm not from your country.

It's interesting she doesn't want to do the research required for her own wedding. I wonder why that is.
