Finally got to go out of town for awhile

It was a little surprise trip that an aunt decided to take my son and me along because she and a friend weren't able to make it to their planned trip to somewhere else. Along with my cousins and her friend's sister, daughter and niece, we all went to Laguna for a swim. Laguna is a popular destination here in the Philippines were resorts can be found, both public and private pools. My silly aunt had actually just thought of it out of the blue but hadn't planned which resort to go to. Nevertheless, she was able to settle on Splash Mountain. The place is packed with people which annoyed me a bit but we were able to find a table. My son couldn't wait so I fed him lunch and he went on ahead to the kiddie pools beside our table. As the rest of us started to each lunch, it rained a few minutes later and the rain turned real heavy like a storm but without the lightning and thunder. I joined my son on the pool immediately and left the rest still eating . The rain being cold and heavy and the pool water a bit hot, it was an experience that was a first to me. It only lasted a good half an hour and the sun stepped out of the clouds once again. I spent the rest of the afternoon tagging along my kid wherever he goes. He wanted to play at the 1-foot deep pool for the younger kids because that's where the slides for the kids are but the pool is dirty with debris from the surrounding trees. We stayed at the 3.5ft deep pool instead and he went crazy getting out of the pool and trying out the slide over and over. We left at 6pm and got home three hours later. It wasn't a bad trip but it could've been better if we picked a better resort. I just wish the place is more meticulously maintained.

Ian will turn 9 on July 6th. He was very excited when it rained while he's at the pool. One of my cousins joked that we didn't bring an umbrella and that's when Ian panicked, lol!

Well, never mind the place as long as your son enjoyed the moment. For sure your son was already sleeping in the car due to a very tiresome but enjoyable day

Indeed he was. We actually commuted that's why it was extra tiring but I'm just glad we got home in one piece.

It sounds as if everyone had a great time. Getting away on a trip is so rejuvenating. Sometimes the resorts are what we expect but perhaps next time you'll enjoy an upgraded resort.

I'd definitely go to a cleaner place and I wouldn't mind spending for it too.

It took that long because of the traffic and we ate on the way also. It was just in Los Banos.
