Getting and sending postcards has definitely become one of my favourite pass times and on arriving back from my mid-week-break-a-way with M, there was a lovely surprise from the Netherlands awaiting me. I love the stamp especially! have you missed me? I am off to play a 'poitjie-kos' Bowling day Challenge - so my chatter will have to wait till tonight. poitjie - is a BIG BLACK AFRICAN Pot that is used on a huge open fire.

@Inlemay I also have ridden and horses are such wonderful creatures. I don't have any horses now but my son in AZ has 5 horses that they take turns riding.

It is a lovely post card. I have never been in Holland nor have a friend there. I was a part of a facebook group which is composed of people who travels a lot. One of them sent me a post card from Norway. It was so lovely. I wish I could really visit the country.

@Inlemay I agree. In addition to that, we learn more of a particular country by visiting them. I hope I can visit many countries not those only in Asia but in other continents as well.

@Inlemay BY KFC do you mean Kentuky Fried Chicken? I know that KFC is not present in Belgium, but there are 12 KFC franchising in Germany without crossing the border. We had one in Milan in the 70's but it closed.

@LadyDuck yes I mean Kentucky F C - the Flemish are crazy about it and travel every Sunday to buy it across the borders. we have plenty of KFC here, but I dont put my lips to it. I did not see any KFC in Germany, however I did see them Ireland and Spain .

I can't understand spoken Dutch but understand a bit when it's written. The stamp shows a bicycle. The Netherlands without bikes wouldn't function! I was in Amsterdam twice and loved the traffic signs, especially this: "Verboden Fietsen te Plaatsen" (literally: Forbidden bicycles to park). I could laugh my head off. I don't know if it sounds funny for English ears, too.

it does - we had the Afrikaans in SA that is a composition of German, dutch, even here and there a french or Italian word, so 'die vorboden snaakse woorde is geniet"

I fear I've been trumped, because the card that's on it's way to you from me has a horse on it. Yes I did miss you.

That's another nice postcard. Good luck at the bowling day. We're off to a winery soon which we hope will be nearly as much fun. :)

By the way, we had people both from the Netherlands (a family that comes to our international church sometimes) and South Africa (visitors) at church today!

It has been a long that I haven't received any postcards. The modern days really changed a lot of things. I used to collect them in my shoebox.
