We heard of Nile, Sumerian, Mohanjo-Daro, Greek and Roman and Assyrian Civilizations. But, many of us might have come across some civilizations treating them as a phased routine civilizations without evincing the details of them and appreciating the beauty of them. These are the Civilizations viz., Olmec, Mayan, Aztec, and Inca. All these civilizations have their own distinct feature and they all rose and fell within a narrow gap of time period. The Mayan Civilization was no doubt old among them starting around 2600B.C and built most of their cities between A.D 250 and A.D 900 . But, the peculiarity of this civilization is that it adopted their culture more from the younger Olmec civilization who started 1200 years later. The Aztec followed about 400 years after the Mayan civilization. The Incas were totally different and lasted in less than 300 years till their wipe out by Spaniards. Their cultures are similar in many ways. Their ways of building cities, forts, tanks, sacrifices, pyramid structures, human sacrifices and following the hieroglyphic script (except Inca) are all rose and fell along with these cultures.

Personally I think India and China were the great civilizations. The cultures are still reflecting the ancient wisdom, and both India and China are still very strong today. The ancient buildings are very well-preserved and are great tourist sites.
