Hi Aldrin. To be honest, if you want to learn English, books are a good start. As a student who took English/language arts classes during my school years, I can tell you that classes and books are good for improving your understanding of the English language. It is a very broad language. In other words, there can be quite a few ways to say similar things. There are also writing techniques that help get thoughts, stories, and instructional ideas understood. I am still studying myself. As far as movies, they are for entertainment as you may well know. A movie may be full of slang, cultural ways of speaking, and street terms. Sure, you can hear it for yourself, but it is not always proper. Proper English these days is mostly taught in classes and written in books that comply with the rules of standard English speech and writing. Believe it or not, a news program with English speaking journalists can be an audiovisual way to convey some proper English standards. By the way, I see that you are learning in your writing. Keep up the good work!

@aldrinlee I am from Florida. It is a peninsula on the Southeast of the United States. It rarely snows here, and it is called the "Sunshine State". I commend you for your efforts at learning English as a busy person. No, it is not an easy language to learn. I continue to learn English by reading books and studying writing techniques. I don't want the English language to disappear. I appreciate it greatly. Your interest in the language is good for promoting it worldwide. English seems to cross borders and erase boundaries for language study.
