Procrastination

Canada

I am the best procrastinator on the planet. I can find so many things to do when I need to be doing something else. For two days I've said I had painting to do and did I do it? NO... I have an order for two dozen wine signs to be delivered to a winery this week. So I am going to my painting place and I'm staying there until I get the painting done. Sometimes life gets in the way of myLot. The photo is my studio space, nothing to brag about but I love being there when I feel creative. Now if I only had someone to clean it up behind me.... Oh ya, I do have someone - ME! Have a great Wednesday

Sorry, but I take the first place as a procrastinator. I should be cleaning right now and am I? Sending you some "creative energy" so you can do your painting.

Hope your painting goes well. Sometimes when you sit down at your desk or in a studio, the muse suddenly decides it's time to get down to business. The cleaning up will be there when you finish being creative.

When I went to the gym I stopped at the library for a new book on CD. As long as someone reads to me I can sit still and paint for hours. I will finish today in around 2 hours. Finished 12 and have 18 more almost done...

@PainsOnSlate That's a great idea to listen to a book while you're painting. You sound pretty productive.

I have read a lot of discussions about procrastination and most admitted to being a procrastinator. Is it some kind of disease? Is it highly infectious? I am a big procrastinator myself. i have this challenge in April that I promised i would do and finish but the end for the first week of May is coming but i'm not even half way the challenge hahaha. I'm sure i'll have time to do it later.

It is a disease, a fun and popular disease. No one wants to slave away all day without fun and I find this site a lot of fun. You will get your work done when it needs to be, i did!

MyLot is full of procrastinators. There is no good reason for being here, but here we are. Someone needs to be the creative one, and today it's you. You are also looking favourite for tomorrow too. lol

I'm bad with procrastinating too, and I'm worse as I've gotten older than I used to be. A lot of that may be due to me working a large portion of my days, but no, in the winter months I mostly have only one job and I still put things off. I did do the dishes today, but thought about putting away two baskets of clean laundry. They are still sitting there. I did clean 3/4 of the kitchen floor which is good, and I'll be going to my mom's shortly to help her with her meal and working the midnight shift tonight. I also got a few weeds pulled. I should mow the back lawn and there is a lot of cleaning or arranging I could do, but maybe one day it will get done too.

@PainsOnSlate Maybe so. When I was younger I tried to do some tole painting, I think it was called. I don't think I found the right supplies, but I was interested at the time. As I listed what I did do yesterday, I realized I did better than I do most days even my days off are spent playing a game on my tablet, playing a facebook game and mylotting mostly.

You got a lot more done than I did. I keep the kitchen tidy (notice i didn't say clean), It hurts to work in the garden so hubby does it, he mows, I'm allergic to grass (not kidding), my clean laundry is in the basket two. I think we are sisters.

@MarshaMusselman my sister play Words With Friends Scrabble and my iPad just let me know she played. I also do some other games from FB. I enjoy playing more than working.

I wish my house looked that clean, my problem is there's always something more fun to do than house work or else the plants outside need attention.

Yeah I get that way sometimes @PainsOnSlate then something outside bekons to me and out the door I go and any cleanin I may have started is put on the back burner it's not like anyone'll see this place anyway, most of my friends are allergic to cats.

I am not a clean freak and I have no organization to my cleaning. When its dirty enough to bother me I tidy it up.

@PainsOnSlate I'm glad that you got it done, I thought about you yesterday afternoon as I was sitting outside enjoying the day and wondering if you were wrapping things up and hoping that you were. Now you can enjoy the sunshine and the weekend, good job!

@crazyhorseladycx They are ready to go so I will phone today to see if they want them now. I just wanted them done because we are going on a mini vacation and I didn't want to think about painting while away. If they don't want them today they can wait until next week. Priorities are important at times. I love my life as a procrastinator.

I did half yesterday and started on the other half. I can't paint at night, my eyes just won't allow me (and Wednesday night is my TV night - Survivor and Big Brother Canad )so I finished 12 and have 18 more to do today. The18 are well on their way and won't take much time to get them done. I figure 2 or 3 hours after i wake up (its 6 AM) I'm going to catch up here for an hour...

@PainsOnSlate I am being forced to finish an assignment I should have returned almost a month ago!! I think I will have to offer a substantial discount. My own fault for not giving myself an urgent deadline!

I understand. I am also share same story with you even though mine is not on painting. I would love to write articles but when my jobs get in the way, I have no choice but to set aside what I would like to do and just prioritize my job.

I understand. I work for myself and I paint for a living. I have several stores who sell my work. I only have to paint enough to keep them stocked and the Summer here is very busy - which means I have to paint-a-lot instead of myLot.
