Sometimes I think I'm Dyslexic

United States

I don't know if my hands type faster than my brain works or vice versa but I can't get through a whole post without finding many words where the letters are transposed. Thankfully I can catch many of my mistakes with spell check. Today I have to go out and get the last minute things I need for Mothers Day. I finally made a menu so now I just have to shop for what I need. We always do a buffet since there are minimum 20 of us which makes meal planning a bit easier without having to worry about a sit-down dinner. Other than the supermarket I will be heading to the Dollar Store for cards and gift bags. I always give my daughters and daughter in law a token gift for Mothers Day since they are all mothers so now I need pretty little bags for their gifts. I have a little bit of time before heading out so I'll be myLotting while I enjoy my second cup of coffee. Have a great day everyone!!

You are not alone as I usually have to go back and change something because I have typed it in wrong or mispelled it. The brain doesn't always work some good these days.

I have the same problem since I started typing with computers. With typewriters, you had more time to think.

@Marilynda1225 Yes. And the problem to either pain the words I did not want to write or there was also a sort of ribbon. All a nuisance.

At least we have spell check with computers and can go back and correct it. Do you remember typing on typewriters using carbon paper to make copies?

Trust me. You would know if you are truly dyslexic. I taught so many poor children suffering with it, and was only able to teach them how to cope with it.

I feel sorry for anyone who has dyslexia and it must be hard trying to teach someone how to cope with it

Hope your shopping trip is successful. That is nice what you do for your daughters and daughter-in-law. The only one I am handy to is my daughter. She is coming today to take me out to lunch, as she will not be able to come on Sunday. She and her husband pastor a church, so that is a busy day for them.

I'm happy that you are seeing your daughter and having a nice lunch as celebration for Mothers Day. I'm sure that Mothers Day is a very busy day at church especially for pastors

I like how this post evolves. Went from being dyslexic to Mothers Day to the super market. Which I read get your dyslexic mother a gift for Mother's Day. I am a bit biased though because I have been known to be Dyslexic myself.

Now I have to laugh because I see my title is misleading and I went from my original topic which I had intended to discuss into a totally conversation

I also feel the same thing. Sometimes my brain works so fast and typing skills became fast too. Eventually, I have to recheck the composition if there are typographical errors.

I had a really wonderful day today. It flew by, but the sun was shining and that lifted my spirits.

@Marilynda1225 I bought myself a new bathing suit and I'll say it's from her - we don't give her the credit card!

I think the hand is quicker than the eye! When I was learning to type I had a few keys I always transposed when I wasn't thinking, Once you have the habit it's hard to break.

My problem is my fingers can't keep up with brain and I keep typing can instead of can't and do instead of don't. It makes rubbish of my posts and comments sometimes but try as I might to proof-read carefully I still keep doing it.
