Just a Spoonful of Sugar Helps the Medicine Go Down

I'm sure you're acquainted to the song that title goes to, and if not it's from Mary Poppins. As I was reading through my comments just now I noticed something interesting. Compliments on my Bible Studies. I do get them occasionally. One thing I try to instill in my Bible studies is how much God loves each of us. The Bible isn't for hitting a person over the head with and forcing them to read it or accept Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. That isn't even in your job description as a Christian. Jesus told his disciples to go and tell. He didn't say anything more. He showed us how we are to love our neighbor. You don't love anyone when you're hitting them over the head with the Word of God. I use the King James Version because it's Public Domain. I just looked up the word LOVE in the search box in the program I use - It's found 286 times throughout the Bible. I really thought it would be more than that. But when you consider the word Charity used in KJV means love as well, it does up it a few more times. God is love. No he doesn't want anyone to go to Hell, but he doesn't break down the door of your heart to gain entrance either as seen in Revelation 3:20. So who's job is it to bring conversion to the world? The Holy Spirit's. We plant the seed and He does the rest. So before you go bopping someone over the head with the Word of God, remember God loves them just as much as he loves you. Just some thoughts to consider. I love you all - God loves you more. Thanks for reading.

I love you all - God loves you more. This very sentence of yours is what separates you from others. Thank you for sharing such a nice post. I loved it! I believe that God is not going to condemn anyone whether they believe in him or not. All are equal in his eyes.

I think often people harp on the old testament instead of the love that Jesus gives us in the New Testament. Jesus doesn't threaten doom of brim stone and fire, he offers hope and forgiveness

I guess some folks can be too focused on God's Judgement. But that's exactly what it is, God's judgement, not ours.

Yes it is. We are to love, go, tell, and once the Holy Spirit brings to salvation, make disciples.

Sometimes people need to be bopped over the head with the word of God, they are so stubborn. You are right he does love us all and is so good to us.

@just4him nope, I found it on my own with my family, seems like some are so stubborn it takes something drastic before they see the light
