Bad anxiety today but so glad to be getting out of this smelly house

I have only once had a dead mouse in my walls so I had no memory of the stench being this bad or lasting so long.
My entire downstairs smells so putrid. The worst is the living and ding room. I am wondering if there is more then one dead one in the walls for the downstairs to smell so badly.
My kids do not notice the smell at all but its enough to nearly make me gag when I go in the two rooms.
I have terrible anxiety today so its almost 2pm and we haven't got out of the house yet.
I am taking the kids to get outfits for the semi formal family dance.
I also need to stop into Home Depot and get a filter for my shop vac. I have to check out the dollar store for some things for my sisters upcoming baby shower.

The odor is in the wall between the living and dining room. After about 6 days the smell is very faint. I have candles burning the whole time I have been home yesterday and today (while I am awake) to cover the smell.

I get such bad anxiety about leaving the house though. It takes me hours to get ready to go out. Once I am out it is better its just the initial attempt to leave.
