It gets hotter every day!

I don't know if we'll survive Summer! The air that enters our house is warm to almost hot, despite the electric fans which continuously swing in rooms, sala & kitchen. We can't afford an aircon unit installed in the house (maybe yes to the unit, but not to the electric consumption it will command). Not in this part of this city with its skyrocketting charges. So, my dearest daughter No. 3 bought an Aircool for me. We put 3 bags of ice on its lower part deck, plus a frozen jell-like pack & a bit of water. Just switch it to an outlet, there, you get a bit of cooler air. But not for long! After a little while, it also starts to emit warm air! Gosh! How about in your place? Do you enjoy snow or just like us here in this part of the Philippines where, I am afraid, our house might burn any minute?!

It's rare in the UK that we really NEED air con although luckily we have it at work. But never at the crazy 'chiller cabinet' levels that our US offices have.

@boiboing I agree about the the crazy 'chiller cabinet' levels of every US offices and Mall. You work in shorts in winter and with a heavy coat in summer.

@KnehKnah Ah but it's not so much fun in the winter when it's dark and cold and wet.

i couldnt agree more. the warm air seem suffocating. we have AC installed in our rooms but of course we have to pay for a higher electric bill soon but we dont mind. too hot or warm environment can cause a lot of problems, health problems.

bless yer heart - sendin' ya cool hugs! we've got air conditionin' here 'n i'm most thankful fer't. 'course, i'd rather jest've a better insulated place 'n the ability to open the windows'n jest let the breezes through like i used to. not possible i fear, that latter part. the breezes'f been too much 'n the house'd be filled with dust.

Same condition over here also, we also purchased a air cooler but not satisfied with its breeze. Good news is over here is yesterday we had some drops of rain after a long time.

We have nothing for the moment but an air cooler too. But, we get to enjoy only a few moments of "cool" breeze.

We live in the same country and it's extremely hot indeed.

True. It's so hot that it doesn't feel normal anymore. I guess we're experiencing the revenge of nature because there are no trees around. Only houses, buildings and vehicles. I wear shirts and the color of my upper arms is different from the lower. Looks like I got toasted outside. I wish they'll lower the electricity charges so everybody can at least own an AC.

We usually do not need air conditioning in our country. The only hot month is July, but not all the month, we have some hot days, but the nights are reasonable.

it is so terribly hotter here. i am outside at the veranda and i can feel the sweat dripping at my back, forehead, and back of my knees. i drink water every now and then and i feel cool after.
