Benefits of Asafoetia

Asafoetida is a resin obtained from the cuts of the plant roots. It is used in Indian houses as a spice item. But, actually, this is meant for certain problems like indigestion, bloating of stomach, Gas and flatulence. It tastes bitter and the smell will be unpleasant. The Ferulic Oil content in Asafoetida is 40-60% which makes it enlarges its therapeutic significance which is anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and anti-bacterial.It is also antiarthritic. People in their house heat 2 spoons of mustard oil and a pinch of Ing (Asafoetida) and allow it cool. It gives great relief when applied for Arthritic Pains at knee joints. It has got wide use in Ayurveda.It traditional medicine it is used for digestive ailments, mental disorders, heart problems, and respiratory disorders. For hysteria conversion disorders it is used along with Jaggery. For sciatica, it is used with Ghee. It is very effective in reducing inflammation in the blood vessels. In Ayurveda it is used both for high blood pressure and low blood pressure. It increases acid production in the stomach and improves liver function to release more bile salts. THIS SHOULD NEVER BE USED FOR ULCER AND ANY WRONG USAGE WILL RESULT IN SEVERE ULCERATION. One caution against usage of this Indian spice item is that it should never be used without the consultation of a registered medical practitioner
