Back in action

So much for inactivity. I've been so self immersed in story writing for awhile. I'd get so wrapped up into the writing that I'd forget what time it is, and what's been going on around me. I even forgot to eat a few times. I'm sure a lot of us who write have the issue of getting too emotionally involved with their writing, for example when I write I really transport myself into my writing, I'd write about getting angry and I'm actually typing quicker and with my blood boiling. Today I'm taking it easy, since I know being emotionally connected with my writing can't be good on my health. Does anyone have any weird problems when they write?

Sometimes we can get really wrapped up in what we are writing.

I've noticed that. I really don't know if I like getting really wrapped up in what I'm writing. A few times my husband has asked me what I'm angry about. I don't know if I like the answer, "What I was writing made me mad."

@polyxena Would your husband understand if you told him that?

@RichardMeister He doesn't write, so probably not. I think it's one of those writer things that only writers understand,

I do the same thing. My emotions are also affected by what I'm writing. And yes, I've gone without eating and sleep on many occasions. I'm in writing mode at the moment, though I'm at a little bit of a loss at the moment. It was going great, but I started something that was way too soon for the action required.

@polyxena True. I'm still trying to work out the situation. It's been a couple days now and I'm still at a loss, but I know it will work itself out. I don't want to speed things along. It takes all the fun out of writing and keeping the audience in suspense.

Ugh! I hate when that happens. I think it's interesting that it's something that mainly us writers understand, rather than someone who doesn't have the 'creative streak'

@just4him Yeah, and according to my husband who used to write a little bit of poetry. He says not to force anything when it comes to writing or it won't come out well.

I do that when I get on the computer to do anything, I really need to budget my time so I can get other things done.

Budgeting time seems so tough some days don't it? I have the same problem. I'm going to end up writing out a schedule and sticking to it, and that's it.

If you're writing from the heart like this you're probably writing very well.

I'm not really a good judge of my own writing, I don't know if that's common, but I always second guess if my writing is good enough.
