In the Philippines, there's still gang of charlatans, we call them "budol-budol". They have different strategies of luring people into their nets. The most common way they do "business" is they would go in groups of 3's or 4's, some are well dressed others with ordinary clothes; it depends of what their strategy is. They often promise to make the small amount of money you have, double or tripple it's amount, you have to trust them for it and etc. Other strategies would be to call your house ask the maid to bring all money and jewelries because the master of the house met and accident and money is needed in the hospital.. etc. Whenever these victims are asked why they gave up such huge amount of money to people they never met, their most common answer was - they've been hypnotized. Hmm.. what do you think? Do you believe in hypnosis?

they don't have such power. What they do have is charm and flowery words and back up cheerleaders (that's why they often travel in groups) I've one experience with them. A young girl approached me and lock eyes with me in a bus terminal. I couldn't get my eyes off her because she was smiling at me and she has this expression in her eyes that she is about to tell me something I really need to hear. Since I don't know her I looked away and she approached me, she opened a bag (a small) one with money in it, I can see the bills so I was hooked. She said I could keep it but she needs insurance that I will not leave it there and asked for 5k for insurance then she will comeback. I told her, why would you leave a bag with money in it to me - I'm a stranger. then before I could even finish my sentence she went away with 3 other women.

@Letranknight2015 yeah, she did. It pays to know that what she's offering is too good to be true.. Why would anyone in their right mind leave their money to a stranger let alone ask for insurance for it.
