Reheating food in plastic containers

Before drinking milk, I am used to reheating milk in a microwave safe plastic glass. Once in a discussion with my friend, she said that using plastic containers in microwave causes cancer even though it is microwave safe. She said that we should use a glass container with a lid. Does reheating food in plastic containers in microwave cause cancer?

Oh, I was little worried because I use to feed milk to my kid after heating it in plastic glass in microwave. Now I feel better. Thank you.

When you heat plastic the chemicals from the plastic are leeched into whatever you have in the container. So heating the milk up in a plastic cup in a microwave will cause the chemicals from the plastic cup to leech into the milk. And you will drink the chemicals from the plastic along with the milk. Mm yum yum.

Yes, this is exactly what my friend told me. I stopped heating milk in plastic cup in microwave. but just wanted to be sure of what she said. Thanks for your explanation.

I have never heard that before but you know at one time they were saying every thing causes cancer so it might have been that she heard it then. But i do not think so.
