There Are Million of Galaxies!

Good Morning Everyone. At least, it’s morning where I live. Good evening to those who live on the other side of the earth and all those in between. It’s interesting to know that there are 24 times zones on the earth and it all depends on the spin of the earth as it travels around the sun. Sometimes, a person just doesn’t realize that we are traveling around the sun at an amazing speed and yet we are not flying off into space. We get up in the morning and we go about our day as if we have no concern about how fast the earth is traveling through outer space. We have our breakfast and proceed to live throughout the day with no thought of all the things that allow us to be able to function on a planet that is hurtling through space. Scientists are still being amazed by their discoveries about the Universe and how immense it actually is. There are not just millions of stars, there are millions of galaxies. It brings to my mind the scripture at Isaiah 40:26 which says: “Raise your eyes high up and see. Who has created these things? It is the One who is bringing forth the army of them even by number, all of whom he calls even by name. Due to the abundance of dynamic energy, HE also being vigorous in power, not one of them is missing.” Verse 28 says: “Have you not come to know or have you not heard? Jehovah, the Creator of the extremities of the earth is a God to time indefinite.” All of the order and continuity of space had a Creator. To ignore this fact and believe that it just happened by chance, goes against all that is logical. Scientists continue to discover that fact, the more they find out about the universe. The Bible is not a scientific book, but scientists have to agree that what the Bible says IS scientific when it comes to things pertaining to the earth and the universe. Until, astronauts actually saw the earth as it revolved around the Sun, no one really knew for sure that the earth was “hanging…upon nothing.” Job 26:7 The book of Job was written by Moses about 1473 B.C.E. So, God told Moses something that scientists didn’t discover until recently. So, here we are on a planet spinning around the sun, “hanging…on nothing.” I find that to be AWESOME. What do you think? I find it awesome too - I went to a star gazing evening and the astronomer explained to us that we are just a smidge in the universe and that there are so many other galaxies. Quite frightening to think we are just a grain of sand. The SALT telescope in SA where we visited

That must have been a wonderful experience for you. I have been to a couple planetariums and it is VERY awesome when you come to realize what surrounds us here on earth.

@IreneVincent - Ms Alice - There is no way for me to believe that I am of a religious persuasion, but it is not possible to look up into the night sky and NOT wonder, "How did all of this happen?" That wondering has been going on since "forever" and is destined to continue that way, too. It is great good fun just thinking about such stuff. -Gus-
