My sister will take the risk.

When I drove my sister to the grocery store yesterday, we dropped by the bus terminal; she asked how many hours it will take to reach the capital city. (She previously placed a reservation for a night trip tomorrow), and she was answered 14 hours. Well and good, she whispered, but then, the bus driver said there should be a leeway of 16 to 18 hours. My sister cannot refund the ticket so she said she will take the risk of sitting for that length of time. The whole day today, she was out, buying homemade sausages (longganisa) and milk candy for her 2 daughters and grandson. She also bought a kilogram each of the sausages for our 3 brothers. She plans to leave a kilo for me and my son but I refuse because we are here anyway. My sister is scoliotic. She feels pain when in prolonged sitting. I wonder what she will do during the very long trip. I advised her too, to use just 1 mobile phone (the old one) and not bring out the other phones she has. She will be back, God willing, when the school opens, or when I will start with my duty in July. This is her vacation for this year (well, every year she goes there anyway). What risks do you take to achieve a goal?

It's a terrible journey even for someone who does not suffer of scoliotic. I hope she will not suffer too much.

@LadyDuck she texted me yesterday and she said she cannot visit her daughters yet because nobody is in their house. that alone makes her anxious again.

she texted me early morning, and i was not surprised when she said the journey was smooth-sailing with no traffic at all; just one lane in that mountain range but it went smoothly. the trip took just 12 hours, thank God, so i feel she did not have the back pain she expected to experience (my sister is pessimistic).

That's a heck of a long journey even if someone is in the best of health. I hope she manages ok. Btw - 'buying homemade sausages' seems like an oxymoron to me

with the power interruption for nearly 12 hours yesterday, the home made sausages were not frozen completely. it is good the trip took about 12 hours only, so the sausages did not thaw. why oxymoron? there are sausages that are really home made her, and the woman where my sister bought made those sausages with her original flavor, that my siblings and my sister's daughter crave for these.

@ridingbet Well I usually associate 'home made' as being made in your own home. I'm pleased that the trip wasn't any longer.

@jaboUK the home made sausages are not sold in the groceries as canned goods, and the sausages should be eaten within 3 days because it is not mixed with those ingredients that can cause untoward effects on the body.

is she going to a resort or something? you said vacation.. one time, i took a long bus ride early in the morning. the bus was half empty so i had the whole lane/seat for myself, i laid down and slept the whole ride, she can probably do that.

Well I am working out lately to reduce the weight. Also lifting some weight and reducing the work I do. This is to bring the peace I wanted in life.

I hope she arrives without any physical problems. I don't know if I've taken any risks. I'd need to think about it.

I hope she can get up and walk around some while traveling. Many of us do not do well sitting for long trips and we have to work around it.

never ignore a pain, hijo, because this might be a manifestation of another sickness. it is better to seek consultation from a reliable health care provider than just letting the pain absorb you.

That is a long trip sitting for so long, especially with scoliosis. I hope she enjoys her vacation. I try not to take risks.

my sister also does not like to take certain risks, but she thought of her daughters and grandson that is why she rode on that long trip, which hopefully did not give her much back pain.

I took a risk without a goal kidding. Leaving my office job to try online opportunities was a risk. Staying with previous job was a risk to my health too. No better choice. Everything is a risk.

traveling when you have problems with your back, legs, muscles or nerves is never easy to do especially when they are doing so for long periods of time.

indeed. i told my sister that once the bus leaves (last night), she should take her anti-histamines so she can sleep well throughout the trip.

That's a long time to sit. I go on long car trips, but when I start to stiffen up, we stop and stretch. It's harder to do on public transport. I hope it goes well for her.

OMG! That´s long hours of travel by bus. It is as long as flying from Germany to the Philippines. Sometimes, it´s only 12 hours. Depends on the airline.

the comparison between your trip and my sister's trip is-my sister rode on a bus, while the trip from Germany to Philippines is always air-borne. why depending on the airline? you mean, they fly slow too?
