Walmart, Meijer, Kroger, etc. Where do you shop the most?

She's getting tired. But her husband can't pass up a good deal.

Okay, so I go grocery shopping every day. Everybody always asks me why, (instead of once a week like normal people,) and I'm not sure exactly. I somehow got in the habit of it, and it's just something I do. I don't really know how to buy in bulk, I only know how to buy what I need for each day. It might have something to do with not being sure if I'll have enough money at the end of the month, so I only buy a little at a time, daily. (Well, nightly.) I usually go shopping in the early evening and I get everything I need for the rest of the day/night. Can't say which store I shop at the most. Each one has certain things I need at certain times. Walmart has really good paper plates for only 98 cents. I like the ones with the leaves on them, found in the "party" aisle. They remind me of the Blair Witch Project. So I buy them every time I'm in there. They also tend to be a lot cheaper with all their stuff in general. But Walmart is not the closest place to me, so I go there maybe only once a week. Now, Meijer vs. Kroger....those are my top 2 faves. Meijer has a really good cat food selection, and that's where I always go when I need a better variety for one of my kitties who happens to be super-picky and will even go days without hardly eating unless I buy him the top-of-the-line cat foods. Meijer is good for this, they have so many different kinds to choose from. They also have the special little blue carton of coffee cream that I swear I cannot find in any other store. And I know coffee cream is basically just milk and cream (half and half), but I still like the fact that it says Coffee Cream on it. Somebody else who shops at Meijer also loves it...I don't know who they are, all I know is they buy them all out before I get there, so it's like a race to see who gets the little blue coffee creams first. Kroger's is the closest to my house, literally walking distance. Cat food selection is only so-so, but everything else is good. And I must give Kroger a gold star for being the only place that happens to carry my favorite yogurt, "Plenti"...coconut flavor. I've seen Plenti in other stores, but not the coconut one. So I guess it's a tie between Meijer and Kroger, all depends if I run out of the yogurt or if Timmy (my picky-eater cat) needs something special from Meijer. That's all I got. I know that was very interesting to read. So......where do you shop the most? Please tell me where and why, like I did. But don't copy my exact answer. Thanks.

I am the exact opposite of you. I go shopping as little as possible. When I have a lot of money, I go to Costco. I stock up on all the canned goods and anything with a long shelf-life that I normally buy, stuff like catsup, mayonnaise, salad dressing, barbecue sauce, coffee (they have great coffee really cheap). Then I go to Winco to stock up on meat which goes in the freezer. I go to my local grocery store once a week. I get milk and bread, and vegetables, all the stuff that does not keep as well. I don't have to spend very much money on my weekly trips.

I'm jealous! I wish I knew how to shop like that. I might start practicing...maybe once every other day....and then every 3 days....and so on and so on. Thanks Sherry

@Druscilla034 Just pay attention to the items you use a lot, and stock up on them when they are on sale. That's a good place to start.

If you have an Aldi close by, I highly recommend checking it out. I work at Aldi and I can tell you for a fact that you will get the best deals there. :-)

Thanks Jessica, have never heard of Aldi...which means we probably don't have any here in MI, or at least any near me. But thank you anyway!
