Jacklyn Jose, the unsuspecting Best Actress of the Cannes Festival held in France was a veteran Filipina actress. She is the first Filipino to earn such distinction in the film and academy. The movie 'Ma Rosa' is directed by another Cannes Best Director in 2009, Mr. Brillante Mendoza. Filipino pride is overwhelming because of this honor. I'm sure Filipino actors and actresses will be given respect because of this honor from the one of the prestigious award giving body of film movie.
