As some may know, I'm in the middle of moving so I have a lot of extra junk to get out of the house. Yesterday morning I had too much to carry, so I put everything in bags including the old DVD player I meant to toss, so I could loop them on my arm and carry them downstairs. Then, silly me promptly tossed them all in the dumpster! As I did this, I realized "oops, one of those bags had my work materials and that get well card I was going to send!" I looked into the dumpster. It was recently emptied so there was no way I could reach. I was thinking about finding a way to climb inside when it hit me. If I could just hook the bag with something, like a broom handle, I just might... I looked through the trunk to see if there was anything I could use, and then I spied the tie down straps. The thick, heavy tie down straps with a steel S hook at one end, to be specific. I grabbed one and tossed one end into the dumpster, aiming behind the bag then dragging the heavy hook across the bag handle. On the second try, that bag was mine! I'm so glad that worked.

I am glad you were able to fish the bag out and didnt have to resort to finding a way to clamber inside

Wow I am so glad you got it! I would have been in panic mode and probably accomplished nothing. Lol.

I'm glad it worked. The last thing you need is to lose all your work related stuff.
