My youngest girl and her husband have sold their house in San Diego, and they are preparing to move to North Carolina. She just called me from Sacramento, they are coming up to the home where she grew up to see her family and old friends one more time before they leave. So, I have dusted the guest room, and changed the sheets on the bed. Can't wait 'til my girl and her hubby and the two grandkids get here!

At least she'll be in the same country though I realise that she'll be a long way away. My daughter lives on the other side of the world. She's here for a couple of months at the moment - yaay.

Nice the visit is long enough for everybody to get comfortable. They blew through here like a whirlwind. I am just coming to grips with the fact that I will have to spend as long on a plane after the move as I spend driving to see them now.

That should be fun for you. Until you have to say goodbye.

It's all over now. The people are gone and the house is quiet.

Will you be able to visit her in NC when she arrives?

Yes, of course I plan to be making some trips to North Carolina, and I'm sure she will come back here from time to time.

@norcal Atleast there is that. Is she moving to the coast, triad or mountainous region?

Even though I don't like to be so far apart, I am glad they are following their dreams instead of just making do.

It's a little sad that they had to move away.....I hope they are adjusting well to their new home.

@ria1606roy I am not sure, they are in Kansas now. Taking their time and trying to keep the kids happy.

They are not even there yet. They are driving across the country in their truck.

Enjoy your time with your daughter and her family. How old are the grandkids? Bet they're cute whatever the age. :)

@JudyEv That little girl is so busy, but I could just eat her up. She's so sweet! The boy takes more time to warm up, and since we don't see him that often, we have to start the process all over. He's super handsome, and smart though.

She's mostly excited. Of course it is a lot of stress leaving old jobs and friends and planning for the move.
