I was out and about visiting a friend of mines and I got a phone call from someone else that I know who happen to be in the area. I pick up and she was panicked and I couldn't make out what she was saying so I asked her where she was and hung up after telling her to just wait for me to get there. I walked out of my friends house immediately and ran to see what all the fuss was about. Well I didn't see anything but apparently she was frightened by a wild cat she had seen. I wasn't sure exactly what kind of cat it was because I didn't actually see it but from what she was describing it was some kind of mountain cat as she called it I said maybe a bob cat although in all honesty I am not sure if they would even live in the area. She told me to be careful with the kids and tell people who I know that if they see it to kill the animal. All I could think was anything was possible I had once seen a fox digging in the trash so I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss anything. Which brings to mind the dingo ate my baby which is something I once heard someone tell me. Which happens to be rather funny because I had never heard of a dingo I thought it was some kind of bird but apparently a Dingo is some kind of fox or something to that effect it was years ago. Well I just thought I would share this with others on here. Have you seen any wild animals in your area lately? What if any fears do you have besides the normal animal attack and possible transfer of diseases?

Dingoes are wild dogs in Australia that are hated and shot.

I am not sure if it is the first time she has ever seen a wild animal like the one she saw. She was attacked by a large dog less than a month ago and she was not able to fight the dog off the owner did nothing they just slapped the dog for the bad behavior and said sorry. Now she seems to be afraid of all animals she sees not that I can say I blame her.

I think a dingo is a wild dog. We don't have them here. We do have raccoons, which like to raid our garbage or even eat dove eggs, and coyotes, which like to eat our chickens and ducks. I've heard there are mountain lions and bobcats on Mt. Diablo, where we hike, but all I've seen was one small bobcat at a distance.

I haven't seen anything but who knows I guess she could be right or she could have made a simple mistake out of fear a cat that was just a stray and fat and I guess it could be mistaken.

Wow. I would be scared of that cat, too. I'm afraid of the heights and yes, snakes, too.

@OKennedy I think she can wear her high heels when she is in the job site but when going there and on travel, she should wear rubber shoes so she can run.

@Yar_Joey she spends more time in the field than she does in her office dealing with people who are less than friendly the hit first ask questions later kind of people using intimidation to get what they want and she is an easy target. The people she has to deal with don't exactly like her very much.

She was attacked by a dog and now she is scared of just about all animals I understand why she is afraid. I teased her because she dresses really cute to do her job which requires running shoes and a weapon because of the potential dangers. I told her stop wearing heels to be on the job sites. I told her if it was me I would have taken off the pumps and used the heel to defend myself.
