Rotoworld reported the news on Friday the Seattle Mariners have placed their outfielder Leonys Martin on the 15 day disabled list with a strain of his left hamstring. Martin, 28, injured his left hamstring on Wednesday during a baseball game versus the Oakland Athletics. The Mariners are placing Martin on the 15 day disabled list as a precaution since they do not want to have Martin play in any baseball games with his injury which could get worse if he tries to tough out his injury. The Mariners have promoted from their AAA minor league team the Tacoma Rainiers outfielder Stefan Romero to replace Martin on their 25 man roster on Friday.

The M's are in first place and taking no chances. Martin isn't spectacular but steady.

Better to safe than sorry with a star player like Martin.
