~He Does It On Purpose!~

When I get annoyed in some way I always end up cleaning. It gets my anger out in a productive way and it helps me let off some steam. This afternoon after church was one of those times. My husband was pushing my buttons so I walked into the kitchen and started scrubbing away! I think my husband sometimes pushes my buttons on purpose so he can get a clean house to look at! I guess it is a smart idea on his part if you think about it... Oh well...at least the house is clean and smells good and I am not as annoyed anymore. Win win for everyone! Does your spouse do anything like this?

I always clean too when I am angry or upset over something. Well, after 44 years of marriage, my husband learned not to push my buttons because the result of doing so is not pleasant. They do get wiser as time passes.

@LovingMyBabies He will as time passes. I have to admit that I do seek revenge on occasion. A mild revenge, but I am sure my husband wonders where some of his classic literature books happen to be. They certainly are not here! He will never find them!

I have often said the same thing. If I am upset or angry I clean also. It does relieve some of the stress and anger. I believe mine really does do it on purpose. We have been married 16 years and together for 19 years. He knows what pushes my buttons and does it any way and if I say something about it, he acts innocent, but yeah I think they do it on purpose.

@melissa1024 I think mine does it on purpose as well. Yup mine knows what gets on my nerves as well. 12 years gives him the knowledge also to know what I don't like.

@LovingMyBabies Just wondering if you also know how to push his buttons so he can do something that you want to be done?

@LovingMyBabies Exactly and sometimes I wonder if they are just looking for something to do or trying to start up an argument or they think it is funny. Because I can tell you even though I am cleaning mine knows I'm mad because of my facial expression and demeanor.

And you get the house clean without having to work yourself up to doing it. Doesn't sound such a bad way to me. :) Hope the buttons are all back to where they should be now!

@LovingMyBabies LOL. Well, don't fight. Just get along. I hope you're enjoying your Memorial day today. I am. Inside though. I know I haven't been around much getting to many peoples posts. But I have been going through some health issues. And tomorrow I have to go for a biopsy. Nothing serious, really. Just precaution. And I am also going to quit smoking tomorrow. I think I rambled on too much. Enjoy your day.

Hahahaha, on purpose? Maybe, when my wife get angry, she start cooking, even if there is food in the pot, she will bake cookies, make cakes, only because she is really upset, and she wont talk to anybody that time. Does it amuse me to make her angry sometimes, so she can cook? I have to admit that yes. But here is the funniest part, she is an educated woman, so how come she always fall for that? But as you said, it's a win win for everyone

@chris2050 She doesn't fall for it per se. If we don't do those things we will stay angry and we don't want to be angry for a long period of time.

@LovingMyBabies I agree with you. Everybody has this one thing he/she does, when he/she really get upset. And it help to feel good after you have done it. I usually take a long walk until I start sweating, and I when I get back home, I will take my bath, and will feel much much better. Everyone has his thing, so just clean the house, I will walk, and she will cook, as long as we all feel better, after doing it...

My husband will sometimes tease me, or push my buttons. However, I generally don't clean. I will sometimes, if I'm upset and I need something to do, but as a general rule of thumb I don't.
