Remembering my first cat.

When I was about 6 years old my dad rescued a kitten from the storm. He bathe her and fed her and we took her in as our first pet cat, my mom named her Muning (filipino term usually for female cat) and she was so smart, she knows how to use the toilet, never stole any food and even walked me to the terminal whenever I go to school. She always sleeps beside me at night and was also my personal alarm clock. Then in 1990, a year after we got her an earthquake struck the Philippines and we are forced to move out of town because of the devastation. Of course we brought her along. My grandad immediately took a liking for her and requested to keep her. The time we got her back was in 1997, when my grandad died. When she was back with us, she seemed depressed. She's an old cat then and she was too moody all the time but she always remembered me as her owner.. She still slept beside me at night and still wakes me up like she used to. Then one night, I gave her a bath and fed her but she was not in the mood and only slept. The following day, my cat died. My mom told me to throw her away. I couldn't respond because I was so much in shock, she was my dearest friend. But I don't know why I did what I was told and threw her away instead of burying her.. Until now, I still feel bad and guilty and I really miss her.. And I still cry over her because I never had another cat quite like her.. She was so special..

I currently have 2 Siamese cats, they're wonderful and I love them so much. But I can never forget my muning, she is different from all the cats I've had. She is very very smart. I really love her, I miss her still..
