Allowing cookie is safe or not?

Hi Mylot Friends, Yesterday I have joined in AIP online surveys via other online site, this site is asking to allow cookie setting on my system. I do not know about this site any thing is it good or bad to accept cookie setting in my system. Kindly guide me in this regard
