What a Difference a Day Makes!

For the last month my internet access has been erratic and slow. During the last week it deteriorated even farther...slow...didn't begin to describe the service I was receiving (not). Monday morning I finally broke down and called my provider. (My home phone had also had the wires cut for the second time in two weeks). They called me back an hour later, acknowledged that there was a problem and they would be out later in the week to change out my antenna. This morning, I had no internet at all. I went out for the day and came home at supper time to notice a new antenna proudly sitting atop our tower. I turned on my iPad and loaded a page....and another....and another! Hurray! Hurray! We are back up and running.

@Morleyhunt most odd they didn't think'f such? poor plannin', one'd think they'd offer all effected by such a discount'r somethin' fer the month :)

Not only quickly, but they fixed it. My husband was home at the time and spoke to the technician. He commented that the provider had installed all of these dishes in the winter, never taking into account how many homes were nestled in the trees. The trees leaf out in the spring giving us a thick cover.

@crazyhorseladycx there was no discount in March when the ice rain affected their tower. I don't expect a discount now either. A bonus that they didn't charge me for changing the antenna for a stronger (more expensive, I'm sure) one.

They asked me to call and let them know how the internet service was with the the new antenna. I called to let them know how pleased I was with their service.

Welcome back! I think that internet service interruptions are very frustrating, but it sounds like your provider has things up and running now for you.

It seems to be working. Pages are loading in a normal amount of time. I've watched a video, and had no buffering.....yes, life is good.

@Juliaacv I'll do my best. Summer tends to be a bit busy. This week I was out and running around and then home for two days babysitting a sick grand baby. Today it was errands and try to bring my house back into some kind of order.

Yeah, I know the feeling. I used to have massive internet problems in the last place I lived, especially if we had a hard enough rain storm. But, despite some issues I had getting connected when I first moved in here, I haven't had a problem since. (except the couple of occasions they shut down for maintiance which doesn't happen often.) Glad to know your net's back up and running.

We are rural. Our options are very limited. The other option was $50.00/month for 2GB or the one I have $50. For unlimited....hmmm tough decision. Now that it is working properly again, I'm happy with my provider. Last Mile rocks.

I could not get anything to load properly. Nothing would submit....time out.....there was just enough internet squeaking through that my cellphone would not connect. I was getting more and more annoyed.

It has been frustrating for me, even more so for my father. Adding the cut telephone line to the mix gave him a true feeling of isolation.

I didn't forget to pay my bill. The service was erratic because the signal was not getting through the abundance of trees that surround my home.
