Who among you guys are in an inter-racial relationship? I am in one myself , but after ending one and then entering into another one, I would hear people giving me unsolicited advices that this won't turn to good as well. Then there are those who are happy and supportive of me knowing what I've been through before. I just brush aside the negative comments, and was even to joke with them by saying that, "I'm in this country, naturally the people that I would get close to are people from here!" What are your experiences in having a foreigner partner/spouse/friend? What are the adjustments that you have to go through?

They're just human beings that has different country, culture and tradition, but with it comes to love, were all but the same though different in choosing our own partners. I'm not an expert I'm sorry never had this kind of relationship in my entire. but there was one time I had a crush on a chinese mylotter here. At least @Raine38 you were fortunate enough to have a relationship besides a filipino.

My husband is from another race and culture. He came here in my country to be with me. We get along fine and we are happy. Ours is a loving relationship. Of course, there is no such thing as a perfect relationship, but because of our love for each other, we work on our differences. He is very loving and caring. I consider myself very lucky to have met him and eventually become his wife. In my opinion, different or similar racial backgrounds do not matter in relationships. As long as there is mutual love, respect and trust between and among partners, any obstacle is surmountable. Good luck on your relationship. It takes two to tango and only the two of you can determine how long your relationship will last. I hope its forever, just like mine.

My husband and I have very similar backgrounds. This does eliminate some of the stresses of relationships in general. We tend to balance each other out.

Being in an inter-racial relationship does not necessarily mean one partner is foreign. Depends on culture and religion.
