Strange weather in my building!

Outside, it's in the 80s and humid. Inside my apartment, it's cool and comfortable. I'm wearing a tshirt and slacks and there's a constant breeze coming through my window and from my fan. It's gorgeous! I had to go outside the apartment to get rid of trash and to check mail. The hallway is very, very warm. The elevator is almost unbearable. I hope no one ever gets stuck in there during warm months. Once I got down to the first floor, of course the front door is constantly opening and closing, so it's very hot and sticky down there. I met the mailman for the first time. He's a real sweetheart and I might have a solution to my problem of how to get packages picked up and shipped. I'd heard the mail gets delivered about 1pm but it's 4pm now and he's still down there sorting mail into all of our boxes. Anyway, by the time I got back up here, I feel like I need another shower! It's amazing the temperature difference up here with just open windows and fans. I think the answer is because I'm up so high. I guess the air is cooler up here! Well, it's time to think about food. Feels like a salad kind of day. That will work for me! Tomorrow is grocery shopping, so I need to see what's on sale and work on my list. And I'm going to try to get to the food bank before the end of the week. That's always a fun trip! Enjoy whatever there is left of your day or evening, my friends! -Claudia- image from pixabay

Thats great that your apartment is so comfortable with how hot the rest of the building is. Maybe their air conditioning system isn't working well.

@CRK109 oh wow I assumed there was central air or something. No wonder the elevator and halls are so hot.

The building doesn't have air conditioning. Each apartment needs to buy their own unit.

Its good that your unit has that breeze, its probably like you said due to the floor that you are on and often there are no windows to open in the hallways. I hope that your salad made for a nice supper.

Te air is surely cooler up where you are. Keep the windows closed and shaded during the hot hours of the days and your apartment will stay cool.

I should call tomorrow and get in to the food bank. I need to see if they have any fans available while there too.

We use just fans for as much of the summer as possible. I will have the AC units put in if it gets too hot.

It got so hot outside this afternoon here. It was cool in the house, but the a/c is now on. Crazy!

I'm sure you're right about being up high and cooler in your apartment compared to the rest of the building and outside. Salad sounds good.

Sunny now as the sun is beginning to set as most of the moisture in the air is being pulled into tropical storm Colin that is slated to come ashore in the big bend area of our state. So glad I am on this end. Try and stay dry Jennifer (@LovingMyBabies as the storm is going to come across and exit where you are in Jacksonville.
