External Backup Drives ... Toshiba 3 TB USB 3.0

I have USB 2 and USB 3 ports on my computer which is only 5 years old. It has a 2 TB hard drive and my Toshiba external backup drive is USB connected for both file transfers and power supply from the PC. I have finally run out of space on my external backup. It is now time for me to decide between a new Toshiba external back up drive that has 2 Terabytes or 3. The one with 3 TB is the last one available via Amazon Prime. The Basic 2 TB backup drive costs 5 dollars more and is in larger supply. Should I use a 2 TB backup for my 2 TB computer hard disc drive? or should I opt for the 3 TB at 5 dollars less? The thing about it being the only one in stock makes me wonder kind of, why is this so? Was there some kind of issue with the 3TB external backup drive or is a 2 TB backup external disk drive more practical? Does the 3TB drive allow for formatting to work with a Windows PC or might there be an issue with this 3 TB drive that I am not aware of?

I just had a look at the price here, and the 3 TB is sold 20 to 40 dollars more than the 2 TB in French shops. I would not buy a Toshiba drive online, because Toshiba does not take care directly of a damaged drive, at least in France, contrarily to Seagate or WD, and you have to contact the seller for it.

Well with that in mind I will consider just buying it at Sam's Club directly. I would not want a damaged drive sent to me by sloppy merchandise handlers. lol
