Illegitimacy

There was a time when there was a great stigma to being born to parents who weren't married to each other. Now, women are electing to have children without being married. Is there any stigma today to illegitimate children? Is the acceptance to illegitimacy a problem to our society? Is illegitimacy a sin?

Illegitimacy is a big problem in Indian society.we look down upon women having such babies and mock the child too.We are wrong,its not only their fault we keep men on Pedestal and never see anything wrong with them.Its women who suffer.Infact last month only there was a case where a bay was left on pavement without clothes to cover him probably it was illegitimate.It was horryfying and heart tearing. see this link for details http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/articleshow/1181346.cms
