I knocked over my coffee on a pile of paper notes on my kitchen table. Yes, I still write things down on paper. I am still not fully convinced that my notes won't be lost somewhere in cyberspace. Call me old fashioned but I do know this, I have lost some of my notes when for some unknown reason my laptop up and changes the site I am on. Fortunately I was able to save most of my notes. The ones that were too stained I was able to see well enough to copy them on clean paper. Does anyone else out there feel like this? Do you also feel the need to write things down?

Idea Notebooks
I love paper and pens and all things to write on. These are only a few book I use to note everything from novel ideas to journaling. There is a special creative bonus to writing vs typing. I hope you didn't lose anything in the coffee flood :-(

@WriterGirl44 I think it is easier for me to organize things if I have them on paper to shift around.

I've been writing things down. I trust my notes more than this laptop.

@rina110383 so do I. I love my laptop but it is what I am using when I lose my stuff in cyberspace.

I have to write things down so I won't forget them. Even if I had cell phones and nonsense like that I don't think I would trust them.

I definitely do not trust my mind, cell phone, or anything else but writing down things. I would never remember or be unable to find them if I did.

@HazySue Okay, how do you forget where you put it when you need to title everything? The only thing I lost on the computer lately was an article I saved for our Writer's Group, but put it under some different title and can't remember what title I gave it and looking through all my docs didn't give me any clue where it was.

@just4him I guess it's because I don't remember what the name is. I end up wasting time looking to find what I need. It sounds like what you did with your article. Only I am terrible about naming my files.

I am also used to write everything down. Otherwise, I'll forget many things if I don't have my notes.

@Meramar I am a dedicated list maker. I don't know if I forget things because I am so preoccupied or because I am getting older.

@Meramar maybe it isn't a brain burp. Maybe it's just being too busy.

Yes, I do write things down. In fact I compose all my posts on paper before I put them on the computer, as well.

@jaboUK I was feeling sort of old school when I wrote this. Now I feel as though I am one of many who do things this way.

I have spilled coffee on my notes before and it sucks but it's good that you were able to save them. I think writing down things on paper is good, I do it too.
