The day the beach came to us .....

Yesturday we had the seaside come to the school where I work. Well, almost... We blew up several paddling pools and had them in the playground. We had several trays with sand in and toys for the children to play with and make sandcastles. We had chips and an ice cream ( a definate must at the seaside ) We even had a Punch and Judy show ( Puppets ). The weather was amazing and everyone had a great time. Many of our children do not go to the seaside on holiday or even for a day trip was it was something really special for them. Everyone really enjoyed the day.

That sounds like a really fun day. I remember they had a beach party for the families to come to in the evening when my daughter was in kindergarten.

For those children who never get to go on vacation it was a thrill as they were at the beach like other children. All the activities would be something special for the children.

When people say that your schooldays are the best years of your life, what they really mean is being tiny at school is the best year of your life. Then you have to grow up and prepare the beach, not just play in it. Glad they had fun. :)
