Good News and Bad News About Our Move!!

The good news is that our landlady told us this morning that she has no problem moving out whenever we have to! That was really nice of her, because our agreement was until November. Now the bad part... We have been sorting things out and donating everything that we can possibly donate. It's going to be an expensive move, so the less we can take with us, the better. The problem with that is that the house is pretty much a mess as we empty boxes, trying to decide what we can do without. And, our really nice landlady wants to bring a real estate agent to take photos of the house. We are going to have to figure out where to put everything so that the house looks presentable... kind of hard at the moment. There are going to have to be multiple trips to donation centers and they are all far away which means that it's going to take a long time between trips. Oh well... each day gets us a little closer the move so I guess we will just have to hold on to that. Yeah, I am kind of rambling at the moment...so much for a leisurely summer. Not going to happen this year! What I need is a 48 hour day I think. :( Twenty four just doesn't seem to be working. Hopefully by fall, this will be all behind us and we can begin to enjoy our new home. Here's hoping lol!

It can be really hard getting a house ready for inspection or photos or whatever. Good luck with the packing up.

It sounds a bit of a nightmare at the moment, but you will get through it ok.

I can identify with your problem. I don't have a real estate agent I'm worried about and I'm not planning to move yet. I do have a house full of stuff that keeps me from enjoying my house and being able to find things, and I'm trying to clear out what I no longer want. It's a huge job because my physical condition does not allow for a lot of strenuous activity at a time. I've decide I need to stop waiting for a day when I have a large block of time to do things and just start little by little, doing something every day. Some jobs only take a minute or two, like emptying trash, putting clothes away, etc, that I can do while my computer is rebooting or I'm waiting for a page to load or waiting for the teapot to boil. I helps me be more active and make small dents in my mess.

Just bit by bit... that's the way to go. We should never have gotten to this stage in the first place. I'm still amazed at how much we have collected over the years!!

@Hate2Iron Same here. We've had 52 years to collect it and our parents also collected a lot we inherited.

Just work hard at it now and as you say, by fall it should be done with then you can slow down and relax.
