Bought Myself a Gift Today

I haven't been feeling well lately. Not only have I had less energy than I did when I moved in here, but something just really feels "off". I know from my last visit to the doctor in April that everything was just fine, so I sat down and did some thinking about what the problem could be. I don't have a scale here, but I'm sure I've put on a few pounds. When I had the house, I was always up and down stairs, even though it was difficult for me. But I had a full house to deal with. Here, I have a couple of rooms. So it would make sense that I'm moving less and probably eating the same. Maybe a little more sugar since the Food Bank has been a little too kind with the sweets. So I bought myself a gift today. I joined Weight Watchers - the online version. I've done WW in the past and it's always worked like a miracle for me. Even if I don't move around too much, the weight still comes off. So I figured out that the monthly fee is easily doable for me and I'm very used to figuring out points of my foods ahead of time. So I've jumped back in. Today, I was checking out recipes and figuring out what I can make with what I have on hand now, and what I'll need to buy next week to get into some new recipes. Since I love baking and I enjoy making pizza and calzones, I was so excited to find a WW calzone recipe. The one I found is for a chicken and mushroom calzone, but since all of my fillings have been very healthy, I can keep doing what I'm doing and just cut down on the portion sizes a little bit. I'm excited about this. It's something I've been wanting to do for a while and just didn't have the money to do it until now. And it's funny because earlier today, a driver with whom I was talking told me that he's cut out all sweets from his diet and replaced them with fruit. And he's dropping weight like crazy. I guess he put the seed in my head to make me consider what I can do to be healthier. It's time. PS: isn't this image a hoot? lol -Claudia- image from pixabay

That's great that you've taken this step. I do hope it works for you just as well as it's worked other times. No reason why it shouldn't.

That's what I think, too. The best part is that I have to keep track of what I eat. The last time I was on WW, I did go to meetings but I kept very strictly to their online tools so I could track my eating, make the best choices for myself and see how I'm doing very quickly. I'm already going back to those old habits and it's a great way to know if I'm making good or bad choices.

Processed foods is no problem for me since I cook everything I eat from scratch. But the food bank has been a little too generous with the snacks and since I've had them around, I've been eating them. So now I'm building a sensible daily food plan with a few sweets sprinkled in here and there.

It always takes a few days to a week, although I've jumped on this very quickly so it might be sooner. I'm just so glad I've made the change.
