For someone who didn't like facebook

I used to hate FB like crazy. I hardly visited my account or posted anything there for years. Then I found groups on FB which ignite my passion for gardening, crafts, photography etc. Its been great to have a network of people in your region who will help you and provide you assistance and advice when you need. I have been exchanging and trading stuff and ideas with people on FB and have even met some to do so. For someone who hated FB I am spending a lot of time there these days. I have met some very knowledgeable people who are willing to help or give you stuff in exchange for something you have excess of. One person I met there also went out of their way to help me with a craft project. Its a discovery for me.. that has taught me one thing, nothing is good or bad as it is.. its all about how we use the things or technology we have. I am having fun on FB for the first time in so many years.

I belong to a couple of groups on Facebook also one of which is a about happenings in my town. I still don't go into facebook all that much maybe only once a week.

That is great. I visit my FB everyday but mostly I share the photos of the rescue pets who need homes otherwise there isn't much for me there unless one of my friends actually posts something ..... my account is very private and I never add someone I do not actually know.

You would be surprised how many pets find their homes via FB shares or for that matter Twitter shares @sofssu it does help even if just a little.

@rebelann I am part of an animal rescue group too locally on FB. I am only active in these groups not on the personal FB page.

@sofssu I like seeing the pictures posted my relatives . It makes me how those that i haven't seen for years look now . I also love to see pictures of their travels . Makes me at least see the places even without actually going there .

@SIMPLYD I guess most people are doing that.. We have family groups on what'sapp where we post pics. So its pretty much the same, but a lot more private I guess.

I am using facebook relentlessly...before. Now I am just using it to promote our blogs and keep on track with yhe groups I joined. :) I am too lazy nowadays even hitting the loke button. Haha

@wiLLmaH LOL So you have gone from one extreme to another. I just use FB for an hour or a bit more everyday. I don't think I will spend more time that that in future too.

Certainly there are also good things found in FB, if we only users would know how to pay attention to those good things instead of using FB as a venue to fight against each other or todisplay one's self-centeredness, etc

@salonga So true. I've never really used FB .. I was just too bored of the display there. Honestly this discovery makes he spend an hour or maybe more a day .. and I learn so much from it.

Many people are not liking. you are lucky getting some help. Everybody is selfish there. feel proud of them even not having anything to be proud of. Moreover, it is waste of time for many.

@gr8nana6 I see that many people catch up with family on FB. I use skype for that. I only get on FB twice a day.. for about an hour totally. I enjoy it.

That's really good to hear. I can't stand FB mostly and never go on although I have an account. People there seem so vindictive and cruel that I just want no part of it. But maybe if I found people who shared my interests I'd feel differently. I'm glad you're enjoying it.

@JudyEv That is what I thought too. However finding these groups ( need to be careful about choosing one) has helped me a lot. I still don't use FB for posting messages to friends or on their pages.

It's the other way round for me. I used to stay active on fb like whole day and now i barely use it for an hour a day ! I just lost my interest in it.
